Puerto Vallarta is located in the state of Jalisco. It is situated on the
Pacific Ocean's Bahia de Banderas. One of the reason I enjoy traveling to
Puerto Vallarta is you can catch a direct flight from
Los Angeles or
San Francisco. Very big for College students that go during spring break. This place offers everything. You have the great restaurants that are along the beach. One of my favorites is grilled Mahi-mahi served on the beaches and at some taco stands - the meat is skewered and cooked over coals then served with hot sauce and lime. And it goes down good with a nice cold
Corona. They offer lots of excursions like snorkeling, whale watching, and zip line and much more.
I have never been to Mexico, but I have had co-workers travel to Jalisco and other Mexican areas. I would like to go sometime to experience what so many others have told me. What would you recommend to be a first visit to Mexico? Is it best to fly or drive, and what would be the best destinations to start out with. Any other tips in general would be awesome. I do not get to travel much, but I would love to know what would be best to do if I decided to go to Mexico. It sounds great, your information is quite good, the pictures make me yearn for a vacation.
ReplyDeleteSince you live in Las Vegas I would recommend to start in Cabo San Lucas. This is in Baja California. The flight from Vegas is about 4 to 5 hours. I would not recommend to drive anywhere to get to Mexico because usally all the bad things happen around the border of Mexico like Tijuana and Juarez. I usually use Expedia to book my trips and for Cabo you want to go with the All Inclusive deal. This includes your flight, hotel, food, and all the cerveza and tequila you can drink. LOL! Thru expedia right now you will proabably pay around 800-900 per person for 5- 7 days. I recommend to stay near the Marina which is close to the beaches and shopping. Here is the hotel info if you go this is the place to stay at. http://marinafiestaresort.com/
Deleteyour blogs are great. It just sucks that the drug cartel has made it difficult for people to enjoy all that Mexico has to offer. but i do enjoy reading you post.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you James it is very sad to hear the bad news about Mexico when it has so many nice things to see. The cartels have taken over everything. They run things in Mexico because they have so much power and money they can buy anyone. The sad thing is that I see no end in site. I usally try to stay in the tourist spots where you see more police but you always need to be careful not to wander to far from your hotel and try not to do to much of the nightlife.
